criibaby: queer vibes live At sf lgbt center

May 12, 2023

Free admission, RSVP below!

As queer people, we often find solace in the worlds we build- for us, by us. So when rising queer artist Criibaby thought, “What would gender-neutral music sound like?” she knew: they had to create it.

On May 12, step into the dreamy indie R&B universe of singer/songwriter Criibaby for a night of LIVE gender-neutral music! Using a unique songwriting method she describes as possessing “no names, no genders, only the feelings, only the bare truths,” Criibaby’s lyrics contain no binary pronouns, and all their songs are written from an openly queer perspective in a conscious effort to create more inclusive music. Drawing inspiration from artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Portishead, Clairo, and Radiohead, Criibaby asks, “What is more human than heartbreak?” and tries to untangle the fragile beauty of yearning for human connection with her delicate, emotional vocals. Get #InYourFeelings at this free performance-meets-art-for-healing-workshop session guaranteed to take you to a whole other world while building community with fellow LGBTQ+ folks IRL.

This special show will feature Criibaby's handmade interactive light & sound sculpture which can only be described as "a floating piano made of psychedelic glowing orbs!" Criibaby is fresh off the heels of unveiling this mind-blowing electronic instrument at SXSW, and now they're bringing it to her home city by the bay for its San Francisco debut. Join us on May 12 at the SF LGBT Center to enjoy a free evening of gender-neutral music, make new community connections, and even get a chance to play Criibaby’s glowing instrument yourself!
